Information about Ukraine Visa

Before you rush out to the Ukraine Embassy near you for a visa, there are some things that you need to know. Ukraine has its own Visa policies, requirements, methods of payments, etc. In order to apply for a Visa, you must be sure why you are applying for the visa. Visa Exemption

E-Visa

E-Visa was established in Ukraine in 2018. This is valid for tourism and business purposes.

Types of Ukraine Visa

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, there are 3 types of Visa, namely:

  • Long Term

    This visa applies to foreigners who apply for a temporary residence permit. This is issued as multiple entries and valid for more than 90 days.

  • Short Term

    A short term visa is issued for foreigners to stay in Ukraine’s territory for up to 90 days. He, she or they can get single/double/multiple entries valid for up to 6 months, within a 5-years term.

  • Transit

    This visa applies to foreigners who transit through Ukraine and is valid for not more than 5 days. The individual can have single/double/multiple entries within a maximum validity of 1 year depending on the travel documents.

Required Documents:

According to Ukraine’s visa rules, the applicant needs to gather up the following documents to apply for a visa:

  • Passport/travel Documents and their scanned copy
  • Visa Application form that’s filled up, signed and print
  • Applicant’s passport-size photograph
  • Applicant’s Medical and Travel Insurance
  • Applicant’s Proof of owning sufficient capital to cover the period of stay

Important notice for nationals of China

Please note that, according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine of 28th July 2020 no. 295/2020, «On the temporary introduction of the visa-free regime for nationals of the People’s Republic of China visiting Ukraine with a tourist purpose» from 01 August 2020 till 31 January 2021 China nationals are temporarily exempt from visa requirements for entering and staying in Ukraine for up to 30 days within 180 days of getting a visa where the purpose of travel is tourism.

- copy of a valid medical insurance policy with coverage of at least 30000 Euro or its equivalent in other currency;

- copy of a document confirming the availability of sufficient funds to cover the costs of an intended stay and return to the state of origin or transit to the third stat, or ability to legally acquire sufficient funds in the territory of Ukraine;

- copy of a document confirming business purpose or tourist purpose of the visit.

- a demonstration of a proof that I have sufficient funds to cover the costs of my intended stay in Ukraine and my return to the state of arrival, or am entitled to receiving sufficient funds by legitimate means in the territory of Ukraine in lines with the procedure for confirmation of sufficient financial means by foreigners and stateless persons in order to enter Ukraine, stay in Ukraine’s territory, cross Ukraine in transit and exit Ukraine, and amounts of such means, approved by the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 4 December 2013, no. 884.
